Layering and overlapping of time, body and space - an artistic research
by Anita Kaya
Maybe I'm not supposed to show my face to things, disguise myself with a crow's head and bear's feet. Anchor myself to the ground with my claws. Dream with the ghosts.
Accumulations. A store. A sleeping place for piled up things. Materials, stacked, layered, everyday things and documents. Things that have lost their meaning and yet are still effective. Traces that have accumulated over 35 years of dance and performance work. Things as memory against forgetting are pushing themselves into the foreground and want to be heard. Follow the call, practice listening, listen to the polyphony. Follow the traces in between. Connecting lines. Superimpositions. Her/His-stories. The past. Everyday life. Fictional.
I deal with the human relationship to things. With the things that accumulate to form mountains - seemingly without our help - are deposited in our homes, landscapes and bodies.
