The research cluster Stoffwechsel – Ecologies of Collaboration visited the ZAD Notre-Dame-des-Landes in May this year. This place has become a symbol of the struggle for new relationships with the land, which emerged from the resistance against a planned major airport in the northwest of Nantes. We visited this legendary French laboratory for alternative and autonomous forms of life that are developing a kind of new common in queer plurality. From our encounters, discussions, walks and collaboration on this 1650-hectare territory, we collected sound and language impressions that show our digestion, learning and reflection. In the T.A.R. (Temporary Autonomous Region) by FUTURAMA LAB at the Nordwestbahnhof festival area of the Klima Biennale Wien 2024, these sound fragments will be heard as a multi-channel sound installation and create speculative connections between real and imaginary autonomous zones.
Realized by Im_flieger as part of Stoffwechsel – Ecologies of Collaboration.
